Why more people are choosing stone for driveways

We talk a lot about internal flooring option on this blog, but the outside is just as important and one trend we’ve picked up on recently is using stones as a driveway surface. With stone, you get a nice looking surface that will work wonderfully beside a lawn or a patio pathway leading up to the house. It’s nice and confortable for your car tyres to drive on so long as you have an even spread of stone that’s not deep enough to swallow your tyres. The downside is of course, maintenance. You will need to keep it tidy every week, sweeping the stones away from the path or road and back into your driveway. This won’t be much a problem but if you’re planning on renting your property out, you will have to advise and check up on your tenants, because roads, even private ones should be kept clean otherwise the council will soon come knocking at your door with a hefty fine!
