A house without carpets

It’s strange to think about if you’ve always had carpets in your home, but some people have no carpets at all!

Having solid oak flooring throughout a traditional or contemporary house is actually quite normal, and it can be a seen as a nice period feature throughout the home. That said, no carpets at all could mean the flooring isn’t the most comfortable or cosy, especially in the winter months. That’s why it is important to consider having rugs or mats to rest your feet on in the so-called ‘comfortable areas’ like bedrooms, the living room or a snug room. The great thing about having no carpets is of course that stains are no more and drips can easily be wiped up, but the negatives come from not having a cosy feel on the feet, which we all want from time to time. Consider a series of designer rugs if you want to add a touch of warmth to your flooring.
