Signs of Water Flood Damage To Your Floor

As we can all imagine, if our home is hit by a flood it is likely that our floor will have been damaged. But sometimes it can be difficult to tell if your floor is damaged and needs replacing. So, we are going to share with you some signs that your floor is water damaged and should be replaced.
Your Floor Is Uneven
If you can visibly see or feel that your floor is uneven, it is a clear sign of water damage below. For example, some parts of your floor may have sunk or may be slopped. It is a sign that water has gotten beneath your floor making it uneven, a clear sign that you should repair your floor.
Your Floor Feels Softer
If you have hard floor in your home, a clear sign there is water damage is it feeling softer to walk on. If your floorboards are more squidgy and spongey to walk on. This is a clear sign that water has filled your underlay, making it feel softer to walk on. While this may be nice, you should replace your floor as it is not healthy and will cause more damage.
Cracks and Movement
If you see any cracks appear on your floor, it is a telltale sign of severe water damage. This can also be noticed by movement, especially of hard flooring. If they have moved out of place, began to overlap or come away from the skirting boards. If you see any cracks or movement you should replace your floor immediately as water can easily go through cracks and cause more damage.
These are three of the main signs that your floor has suffered from water damage. If you notice any of these signs you need to highly consider replacing your floor before more major damage is caused.
